Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A study was conducted to determine the acute toxicity of the test substance, trichloro(N,N-dimethyloctylamine)boron, to Daphnia magna according to OECD Guideline 202 and EU Method C.2, in compliance with GLP. Twenty daphnids (4 replicates of 5 animals) were exposed to an aqueous solution of the test substance at nominal concentrations of 10, 18, 32, 56 and 100% v/v saturated solution for 48 hours at a temperature of approximately 20°C under static test conditions. Immobilization and any adverse reactions to exposure were recorded after 24 and 48 hours. Analysis of the test preparations at 0 hours showed measured test concentrations to range from 0.063 to 0.75 mg/L. There was no significant change in the measured concentrations at 48 hours and so the results are based on 0 hour measured test concentrations only. Under the study conditions, the nominal 48 h EC50 was determined to be 0.75 mg/L (Harlan, 2014).
