Description of key information

The boiling point of 2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethanol by the distillation method was found to be 84.2degC at the atmospheric pressure of 975 hPa.No decomposition of 2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethanol was observed at this boiling point. This boiling point value at 101325 Pa is equivalent to 85.63 degC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
85.63 °C

Additional information

The boiling point of 2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethanol by the distillation method was found to be 84.2degC at the atmospheric pressure of 975 hPa.No decomposition of 2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethanol was observed at this boiling point. The other authoritative source of information though indicate the boiling point to be in the range of 68 -81Deg C which could be due to varying pressure conditions. However for the purpose of the dossier as well as for the chemical safety report, the boiling point of the key study which is 84.2 degC shall be considered. This boiling point value at 101325 Pa is equivalent to 85.63 degC.
