Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
The terrestrial toxicity of Tolyltriazole was examined by long-term toxicity tests with earthworms, plants and microorganisms.
In the study with earthworms no mortality or effects on the weight were observed up to the highest test concentration. The reproduction of the earthworms was reduced at 6.75 mg/kg dw (EC10) after 56 days. Plants showed a higher susceptibility to exposure with Tolyltriazole. The growth of Tomatos (EC10(21 d, fresh weight) 0.91 mg/kg dw) and Onions (EC10(21 d, shoot length) 0.45 mg/kg dw) was significantly reduced. Emergence of tomatos was hindered at 14.7 mg/kg dw (EC10, 21d), while oilseed rape was most sensitive in the endpoint mortality (EC10, 21 d, 7.17 mg/kg dw). Regarding acute endpoints Tomatos were most susceptible (EC50(21d, fresh weight) 9.17 mg/kg dw). In the study with soil microorganisms an EC25 of 48.7 mg/kg dw for the formation of nitrate was observed.
In summary, the results show that plants are the most sensitive group towards the toxicity of Tolyltriazole in the terrestrial environment.
