Description of key information
The intrinsic water solubility of laurylimidazole is 49.7 mg/L by QSAR (ACD/Labs v.12)

Laurylimidazole has surfactant properties and accordingly the water solubility is difficult to measure. In tests to establish the Critical Micelle Concentration, surface tension continued to decline in solutions that were visibly turbid. Also, result in repeated tests were not reproducible. Water solubility was therefore modeled using the water solubility model within ACD/Labs version 12 software. The water solubility model is a valid QSAR meeting the OECD Five Principles, and laurylimidazole is within the applicability domain of the model. The results are therefore reliable with restriction.
