2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs does not exhibit acute toxicity by dermal and inhalation route. It is however toxic by the oral route in acute category 4 as per the guidelines of the CLP regulation. It is assumed to be non-irritating to the skin of humans and eye of rabbits.It is also not sensitizing to the skin of rabbit.

In the absence of local effects following short-term or long-term exposure, no dose-response data are available and a quantitative dose descriptor is not derived. DNEL values for local exposure are therefore not calculated.

Acute toxicity

Considering the end point study data, aluminium,2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivsis not assumed to exhibit acute toxicity inhalation and dermal route but in category 4 by the oral route.

 

Irritation / corrosion

Skin Irritation:

 

Administration of aluminium, 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs to rabbit resulted in a mild skin irritation effect which is not adequate for classification as a skin irritant. Therefore, it can be concluded that aluminium, 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs is not irritating to skin of rabbit.

 

Eye irritation:

 

The Modified maximum average score (MMAS) of 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs was found to be 8.33.

Based on above results, it can be concluded that the test compound 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs is practically non irritant when applied in the amount of 0.1 gm in the conjunctival sac of the New Zealand White rabbits.

 

Sensitisation

The substance2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivswas found to be a not sensitising to rabbit skin.
