Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Acute toxicity to fish:

The study was conducted to determine the acute toxicity (LC50) of LZ937 to the fresh water fish Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). The study was conducted under semi-static conditions for 96 h in accordance

with OECD Guideline 203 for Testing of Chemicals and EC Guideline C 1. Following a preliminary range finding study a definitive test was conducted at 100, 50, 25, 12.5, and 6.25 ppm nominal concentrations of LZ937.

Exposure solutions were replaced after every 24h period. Ten fish were exposed at each concentration in a single replicate vessel.

The 96h LC50 is 35.4 mg/L based on nominal concentrations of LZ937.

Acute toxicity to Daphnia Magna:

The study was conducted under static conditions for 48 h, in accordance with OECD Guideline 202 and EC Guideline C2. A preliminary range finding study indicated that LZ937 was of low toxicity to neonates of Daphnia magna, at a concentration up to 1000 p.p.m. the maximum test concentration tested. A limit study was then conducted at 100 ppm nominal, of LZ937. No significant effects (immobilisation) were observed in the limit study, in either the test or control groups. The results of this study are based on nominal concentrations: 24 and 48h EC50 >100 mg/L nominal of LZ937 and NOEC 100 mg/L nominal of LZ937.

Algal growth inhibition:

The study was performed in 2019 following OECD method 201 and EU method C.3. The effect of test item was assessed on algal growth using the unicellular green algaPseudokirchneriella subcapitata (Selenastrum capricornutum), over an exposure period of 72 hours. The nominal concentrations oftest item used in the main experimentwere:6.25, 12.5, 25.0, 50.0 and100.0 mg/L.Test concentrations were analytically determined at the start of the experiment andat 24-hour intervals thereafterduring thetest.Due to rapid degradation of the test item in the test media the analytically measured concentrations could not be measured the whole experiment, the biological results are based on the initial measured test item concentrations(more details are given in 4.2.).The initial measured test item concentrations were:5.11, 10.08, 19.63, 42.56 and 88.20 mg/L.

The measured EC50- and NOEC-values for aquatic green algae after 72 hours were as follows:

Growth rate: ErC50  > 88.20 mg/l / NOErC 42.56 mg/l

Yield: EyC50 84.55 mg/l / NOEyC 19.63 mg/l

Biomass: EbC50  91.25 mg/l / NOEbC 19.63 mg/l
