Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
The substance is a red solid powder at 20 °C and 1013 hPa. Using the laser light scattering method, the mass median diameter value for its particles was found to be 15.8 µm.
The evaluation of thermal properties was based on a DSC analysis: a melting point and a boiling point were not detected. The test substance did not melt up to 400 °C. Above about 240 °C the substance was not stable (it reacts or decomposes) as an exothermic effect was observed.
The density was determined by using the gas comparison method. A relative density of 1.712 at 20 °C was found.
The substance is very soluble in water at room temperature: the water solubility was estimated to be 460 g/l at 20 °C
As the flask-shaking method nor the HPLC-method could be applied, the partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) was estimated to be log Pow < -5.4 on the basis solubility in n-octanol and in water.
No reactions with water or emission of flammable gases have ever been noted. Furthermore, for soluble dyes a reaction with water is not a desirable property from the use point of view. Therefore, the substance is not expected as a substance that in contact with water may react emitting flammable gases.
An estimation of the vapour pressure of the test substance showed a value of 1.66 x 10 ^-30 at 25 °C.
The surface tension of a solution of test substance in water at a concentration of 1 g/l was found to be 54.4 mN/m at 20.4 °C; therefore the test substance is a surface active material.
The substance is not flammable as it could not be ignited with a flame and it melted in contact with the ignition source. A self-ignition point temperature was not found up to 400 °C. The substance is not expected to be explosive based on the thermal behaviour. The substance has not oxidising properties, on the basis of the test conducted with mixture test item/cellulose: the test item could not sustain a burning reaction.
