- 0.208g of Anther was dispersed with high energy sonication in 1.0 liter of distilled water to give a nominal 200 mg/L stock. A range of test solution (nominally 0.32 - 32 mg/L) was prepared by diluting the stock with ISO algal medium.

- Effects based on biomass were also reported (see attached full study report). However, the preferred observational endpoint in the algal inhibition study is growth rate because it is not dependent on the test design (ECHA guidance Chapter R.7b v1.1). The EU CLP regulation (No 1272/2008 and its adaption 286/2011) also states that classification should be based on the ErC50. Thus only the effects based on growth rate are presented in the above "effects concentration" table.

The toxicity of Anther to the Freshwater green Algal Scenedesmus subspicatus was determined in compliance with OECD standard method. A range of concentrations of the test substance (nominallly 0.32 to 32 mg/L) was prepared in ISO medium. Based on nominal concentrations, the ErC50 (72 hours) has been determined to be > 32 mg/L in this test conditions. The 72 hour NOEC was 10 mg/L.
