Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A weight of evidence approach (section 1.2 of Annex XI of the REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) was built using existing data on the constituents of the multiconstituent substance being registered.
Guideline studies (OECD 105) are available for the constituents of the reaction mass of calcium carbonate and calcium dihydroxide and silicon dioxide; the determined solubities in water being 16.6, 1845 and ca. 38 mg/l respectively.

Additional information

“Testing appears scientifically unjustified” because a weight of evidence approach (section 1.2 of Annex XI of the REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) can be built using existing data on the constituents of the multiconstituent substance being registered.

Furthermore it should be realised that water solubility testing of the reaction mass does not make sense because the water solubility of the individual constituents; silicon dioxide (low solubility), calcium carbonate (low solubility) and calcium dihydroxide (high solubility) can not be determined all at once using the test methods as described in OECD guideline 105 and Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008.
