Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

KDDC has low potential for adsorption to solid particles

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No studies investigating the adsorption potential of KDDC to solid particles were available. Therefore, conclusions on this endpoint had to be drawn based on data from an analogue substance. The adsorption/desorption potential of SDDC (CAS No. 128-04-1) to solid particles was investigated in several studies. The key study (Feldhues, 2008) was conducted according to OECD Guideline No. 121, Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (Koc) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) (2001), under GLP conditions. At pH 6 and a column temperature of 40°C, a log Koc value of -0.12 (mean value of three replicates) was determined. An additional test (Mamouni, 2008) showed that the test substance, even at high concentrations, was rapidly degraded in the soil and therefore a complete adsorption/desorption test could not be performed using the Batch Equilibrium Method.
