Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Parent compound: Acutely harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
Hydrolysis product HCl: Acutely very toxic for aquatic invertebrates (pH dependent).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The parent compound was tested according to OECD 202. The compound was tested as an eluate. The test concentrations were analytically determined. The 48 -h EC50 was > 30.9 mg/L (BASF AG, 2001). With the hydrolysis product 4 -tert-butylcyclohexanol a test result is available for Daphnia magna. The study was performed according to EC Guideline 92/69/EEC. The EC50 (48 h) was 46 mg/L (HPV Dossier, 2006).

The hydrolysis product HCl showed acutely very toxic effects due to low pH: EC50 (48 h) = 0.492 mg/L (OECD, 2002).
