Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Experimental data are available for the assessment of the long-term toxicity of isophorone to fish. In a publication of Cairns and Nebeker (1982) the long-term toxicity of the substance was assessed in a flow-through early life stage toxicity test (US EPA, 1979) with a Pimephales promelas as a test organism. In this test the survival of test organisms was affected by 112 mg isophorone/L but not by56mg/L and lower. Fork Iength was affected by 30 mg/L and higher but not by19 mg/Land lower; weight was affected by19 mg/Land higher but not by 11 mg/L. A geometric mean of the lower and upper chronic endpoints, as determined in early-life-stage tests, was 14 mg/L (basedon measured test concentrations).
