Any other information on results incl. tables

A first small endothermic effect could be observed in the temperature range of -80 to -60 °C. A second endothermic effect occurred in the temperature range of 40 to 220 °C.

The endothermic effect, which could be observed during the heating phase in the temperature range of-80 to -60 °C, cannot be assigned to the melting of the test item, due to the very low energy of the signal. It seems that the test item shows a slight phase transformation like softening in this temperature range.

In the temperature range of 40 to 220°C, an endothermic effect (boiling) could be detected. Due to the fact that the boiling occurred over a wide temperature range, no correction for the atmospheric pressure was carried out. The test item has a boiling range of 40 to 220°C.

No further thermal effects were observed up to the test end temperature of 500°C. The detailed results of the DSC-measurements are given in the table in the field 'Overall remarks'.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The test item Imidazolium compounds, 2-C4-8-alkyl-1-(2-carboxyethyl)-4,5-dihydro-3-(hydroxyethyl), hydroxides, sodium salts (CAS no. 70983-43-6) has a boiling range of 40 to 220 °C at atmospheric pressure (1002 - 1016 hPa), as determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.2. and OECD Test Guideline 103 (1995).
Executive summary:
