OTHER TEST CONDITIONS
- Adjustment of pH: no
- Photoperiod: 14 hours/day
EFFECT PARAMETERS MEASURED (with observation intervals if applicable) :
- Observations: mortalities and responses of test fish were recorded every day during test period. The dead fish were removed as soon as then were found.
- Temperature: the temperature of each test group was measured everyday.
- pH: pH of each test group was measured everyday.
- Dissolved oxygen: the dissolved oxygen of each test group was measured everyday.
- Analysis of test concentrations: the actual concentration of 100mg/L test solution was analysed at 0h and 96h. - Reference substance (positive control):
- yes
- Remarks:

- Effect conc.:
- > 100 mg/L
- Nominal / measured:
- nominal
- Conc. based on:
- test mat.
- Basis for effect:
- mortality (fish)
- Details on results:
- - Analysis of the samples taken from the test solution with nominal concentration (100 mg/L) showed that the measured concentration at 0 and at 96 hours were 1.82 µg/L and 1.42 µg/L, respectively.
- The results showed that dissolved oxygen was 65 to 101%, which was > 60% of the air saturation value; temperature was 21.1 to 21.7°C; pH was 7.06 to 7.90.
- Fish mortalities of blank control and solvent control were both 0%, and fish mortality of test substance group was 0% at end of the test.
- The 96h LC50 of test material (based on the nominal concentration) was > 100 mg/L - Results with reference substance (positive control):
- The result of sensitivity test revealed that 24h LC50 of potassium dichromate was 220 mg/L, within the range of 200 to 400 mg/L.
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- Under the conditions of this study the 96h-LC50 of the test material (based on the nominal concentration) was > 100 mg/L
- Executive summary:
The acute toxicity of the test material to fish was determined in accordance with the standardised guidelines "State Environmental Protection Administration of China. The Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals, 203 Fish Acute toxicity test" and OECD 203 and under GLP conditions using Brachydanio rerio. A limit test was performed at 100 mg/L of test material, with no replicates with a blank control and a solvent control (methanol concentration: 100 mg/L). Ten fish were exposed for 96 hours in a static method. Fish mortality from the test material was 0% at end of the test. Fish mortality from the blank and solvent controls were also both 0%. Potassium dichromate was used as reference substance to confirm the validity of the test. Under the conditions of this study the 96h LC50 of the test material (based on the nominal concentration) was > 100 mg/L.
