Description of key information
Appearance:
Based on available data from reliable safety data sheet, the chemical4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloridewas observed to be white to light yellow coloured crystalline powder in appearance.
Melting point:
Based on available data from the reliable publication, the melting point of chemical 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride was determined to be in the range of 95 degree C to 96 degree C.
Boiling point:
Based on the prediction done using the EPI Suite MPVPBP V1.43,the Boiling point of chemical4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloridewas predicted.
The boiling point of chemical4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloridewas estimated to be 409.37 ˚C.
Density:
Based on prediction done using ACD/I-Lab 2.0 ,the boiling point of chemical 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride was estimated to be 1.408±0.06 g/cm3 at 20 degree C.
Particle Size Analysis:
The particle size distribution of 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride was determined by granulometric analysis with rotap sieve shaker. The particle sizedistribution was determined to be in the range of 150 micron to 25 micron.
Vapor Pressure:
MPBPVP v1.43 was used to estimate the vapor pressure of 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride. The estimated vapour pressure of 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chlorideat 25 degC was 2.07E-005 Pa.
Partition Coefficient:
KOWWIN v1.68 was used to estimate the octanol water partition coefficient of 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride. The estimated logPow of 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride was -1.48. This value indicates that 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride is hydrophilic in nature, which is also supported by its solubility in water.
Water Solubility:
WSKOW v1.42 was used to estimate the water solubility of 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride. The estimated water solubility of 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chlorideat 25 degC was 36940 mg/l.This value suggests that 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chlorideis highly soluble in water.
Surface tension:
Based on the data from ACD labs, surface tension for 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride was predicted to be 50.8±3.0 dyne/cm.
Flash point:
The flash point of 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride (59703-00-3) was calculated to be 223.163 degree C. Based on criteria mentioned in CLP regulation the substance 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride (59703-00-3) was considered to be non flammable.
Autoflammability:
4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°C and atmospheric pressure of 966 hPa. This indicates that 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride is not auto-flammable.
Flammability:
4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus 4-ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazine-1-carbonyl chloride was considered non-flammable for chemical safety assessment.
Explosivenss:
The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
Oxidising properties:
The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Viscosity:
The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid
