Specific details on test material used for the study:
The minimum ignition energy was determined with crude and pure material

Results and discussion

Results:
At 23°C / 49% RH, the minimum ignition energy (MIE) of BI 1356 phthalimide TD pure was found to be 45 mJ.
At 23°C / 49% RH, the minimum ignition energy (MIE) of BI 1356 phthalimide TD crude was found to be 27 mJ.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
BI 1356 phthalimide TD dusts must be classified as exhibiting normal sensitivity to ignition.
