Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Read-across from analogue substances Alcamizer 5 (EC 422-150-1) and Aluminium-magnesium-zinc-carbonate-hydroxide (EC 423-570-6):
No significant inhibition in respiration rate of the sludge is expected at a loading rate of 100 mg Aluminium magnesium carbonate hydroxide/L.
Overall conclusion: 30 min EC50 > 100 mg/L (> solubility limit in water)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

Read-across from analogue substances Alcamizer 5 (EC 422-150-1):

No significant inhibition in respiration rate of the sludge (>10%) was recorded at 100 mg ALCAMIZER 5/L. The duplicate measurement

confirmed the result of the first measurement. Study performed according to OECD 209 and GLP guidelines.

Read across from Aluminium-magnesium-zinc-carbonate-hydroxide (EC 423-570-6):

No significant inhibition in respiration rate of the sludge was recorded at 100 mg substance/L in a OECD 209 test performed according to GLP

principles.

Conclusion:

Based on reliable studies with the analogue substances Alcamizer 5 and Aluminium-magnesium-zinc-carbonate-hydroxide, Aluminium magnesium carbonate hydroxide is considered to have no inhibitory effect on the microorganisms of a water treatment plant at loading rates of 100 mg/L.
