Description of key information

For the test item FEXO-03 to Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata the NOEC values (actual concentrations) after 72 hours for growth rate and biomass growth are:
growth rate - 72h NOEC: 0,8 mg/L;
biomass - 72h NOEC: <0,6 mg/L;
and the 72 hours values of EC50 (actual concentrations) for both the endpoints are 1.90 and 1.03 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
1.9 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.8 mg/L

Additional information

The influence of the test item FEXO-03 an the growth of the green algal species Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, formerly known as Selenastrum capricomutum, was investigated in a 72-hour full test according to the EU Commission Directive 92/69/EEC, C.3, 1992, the OECD Guideline No. 201, 2002 and the OPPTS 850.5400, 1996.

The 72-hour NOEC and EC50 of FEXO-03 lo Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, calculated on the basis of the measured concentrations, are: NOEC <0.6 mg/L (biomass) and 0,6 mg/L (growth rate); EC50 72h 1.03 mg/L (biomass) and 1.90 mg/L (growth rate).
