Oral route:

No toxicity according to the result of a reproduction/development toxicity screening test..

Dermal route:

The dermal exposure route has no significance. First, intake of the inorganic constituents of Flue Dust over the skin is nearly inpossible. Second, dermal exposure will end in skin irritation. Therefore workers and consumers are informed to wear skin protection (gloves, adequate clothes).

Inhalation route:

Flue Dust is a dusty material, but only about 10 m-% of the substance is respirable. Most of the inhalable dust will therefore end in nose, mouth, throat or the upper respiratory tract. From there, the substance can reach the inner organs.

Therefore it was concluded, that for this endpoint the oral exposure route is most appropriate.

Justification for classification or non-classification

There is no human evidence that Flue Dust is toxic to reproduction. Additionally, the study result of a Klimisch 1 study shows no toxicity to reproduction for Flue Dust. Therefore a classification for toxicity to reproduction is not warranted.
