Biotic degradation is not relevant for inorganic substances.

Degradation is an important process that can result in the loss or transformation of a chemical substance in the environment. Degradation of organic chemicals in the environment influences exposure and, hence, it is a key parameter for estimating the risk of long-term adverse effects on biota (ECHA Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7b: Endpoint specific guidance R.7.9.1).
