Additional information
The bioavailabilty and water solubility of the dissolved species from metallic chromium, ferrochromium and ferrosilicochromium are so low that they hardly have any effect of the natural background levels of chromium, iron or silicon compounds. The metallic particles are covered by protective passivating layer consisting mainly of chromium(III)oxide.
