First-aid measures

Inhalation: Move exposed person to fresh air. Keep person warm and at rest. If not breathing, if breathing is irregular or if respiratory arrest occurs, provide artificial respiration or oxygen by trained personnel. It may be dangerous to the person providing aid to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.Get medical attention. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately. Maintain an open airway. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband. In case of inhalation of decomposition products in a fire, symptoms may be delayed. The exposed person may need to be kept under medical surveillance for 48 hours.

Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water. Move exposed person to fresh air. Keep person warm and at rest. If material has been swallowed and the exposed person is conscious, give samll quantities of water to drink. Stop if the exposed person feels sick as vomitting may be dangerous. So not induce vomitting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. If vomitting occurs, the head should be kept low so that vomit does not enter the lungs. Get medical attention. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immedieately. Maintain an open airway. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband.

Risk management measures

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS

Technical measures :

Use only with adequate ventilation. If user operations generate dust, fumes, gas, vapour or mist, use proc-ess enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep worker exposure to airborne contaminants below any recommended or statutory limits.

The substance shall be rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle including manu-facture, purification, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, sampling, analysis, loading and unloading of equipment or vessels, waste disposal or purification and storage. Procedural and control technologies shall be used that minimise emission and any resulting exposure. In cases of accident and where waste is gen-erated, procedural and/or control technologies shall be used to minimise emissions and the resulting expo-sure during purification or cleaning and maintenance procedures.

Organisational measures:

Only properly trained and authorised personnel shall handle the substance. In the case of cleaning and maintenance works, special procedures such as purging and washing shall be applied before

the system is opened and entered.

Respiratory protection :

If exposure cannot be ruled out, e.g. during product transfer, sampling or maintenance, a well-fitting respi-ratory mask conforming to standards or well-fitting respiratory device conforming to standards must be worn. Respirator selection must be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazards of the product and the safe working limits of the selected respirator.
