Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Reliable data on adsorption/desorption, reporting distribution coefficients (Kd values), are available for sediment and suspended matter (read-across approach with titanium). Roychoudhury and Starke (2006) reported a mean Log Kd value of 4.61 L/kg dw in freshwater river sediments while Vesely et al. (2001) reported a median Log Kd value of 5.36 L/kg dw for freshwater suspended solids.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Reliable data for distribution of Ti between solid and solution phase are available for sediment and suspended matter, based on monitoring data of elemental Ti in the different environmental compartments. These results can be used in a read-across approach for UGI products, since it is assumed that at equilibrium UGI-derived Ti will have the same fate and distribution as the ambient Ti in the environment.
