Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Type of information:
other: statement
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Based on the molecular structure a statement rather than a full study was considered to be sufficient to cover the endpoint.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.12 (Flammability (Contact with Water))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks on result:
no reaction with water observed

A test substance is considered highly flammable, when it ignites spontaneously when coming into contact with water or damp air, or evolves flammable gas at a rate > 1 l/kg of the test substance per hour. None of the components of the test substance does contain groups that might lead to the evolution of a dangerous amount of flammable gas when coming into contact with water or damp air. No metals, transition metals, boron or silicon are present. It is not to be expected that an interaction between the different components occur.

Furthermore, experience in handling during the water solubility test shows that the test substance does not ignite spontaneously after coming in contact with water at room temperature.

In conclusion, HXL-8366 is not highly flammable in contact with water or damp air.

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
HXL-8366 is not highly flammable in contact with water or damp air.
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Type of information:
other: statement
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Based on the molecular structure a statement rather than a full study was considered to be sufficient to cover the endpoint.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.13 (Pyrophoric Properties of Solids and Liquids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks on result:
no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)

Based on the structure and composition of the test substance, none of the components contains a chemical group that might lead to spontaneous ignition a short time after coming into contact with air. It is not to be expected that an interaction between the different components occurs.

Furthermore, experience in handling during the Flash-Point test shows that the test substance does not ignite spontaneously after coming into contact with air at room temperature.

In conclusion, HXL-8366 is not pyrophoric.

Conclusions:
HXL-8366 is not pyrophoric.

Description of key information
