Description of key information

Appearance/physical state/colour

On the basis of physical observation , test chemical was observed to be organic solid powder which is  orange in colour. .

Melting point / freezing point

Based on the prediction done using the EPI Suite MPVPBP V1.43,the melting point of chemical was predicted.

The melting point of chemical was estimated to be 312.27˚C

Boiling point

the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which melts above 300°C

Density

According to the reference the density of the test substance is predicted to be 1.92g/cm3 at 20°C .

Particle size distribution

The particle size distribution of test chemical was determined by granulometric analysis with rotap sieve shaker. The particle size distribution was determined to be -

D50 - 1.2μm

D10- 0.241μm

D90 - 6.99μm

D95- 9.70μm

D99- 20.5μm

D100- 35.2μm

D4.3- 2.81μm

Vapour pressure

the study does not need to be conducted because the melting point is above 300°C

Partition coefficient

KOWWIN V1.68 was used to estimate the octanol water partition coefficient of the test substance .

The estimated logPOW of the test substance was 0.5

Based on the estimated value, the test substance can be considered hydrophillic in nature, which is also supported by the water solubility of the test substance .

Water solubility

WSKOW v1.42 was used to estimate the water solubility of the test substance

The estimated water solubility of the test substance at 25 deg C was1654 mg/l.Based on the result , the test substance is soluble in water.

Surface tension

the study does not need to be conducted because based on structure, surface activity is not expected or cannot be predicted

Flash point

the study does not need to be conducted because the flash point is only relevant to liquids and low melting point solids

Auto flammability

Test chemical did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°C pressure of 962 hPa. This indicates that the test chemical is not auto-flammable.

Flammability

Test chemical does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that test chemical is not flammable.

Explosiveness

The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Oxidising properties

The study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
