Additional information

N-(Morpholinomethyl)triethoxysilane was neither harmful to fish nor to aquatic invertebrates. The only aquatic species that was adversly affected was the freshwater green algal species Desmodesmus subspicatus (ECr50 = 25.0 mg/L). In the CSR a risk assessment is provided for terrestrial organisms based on the Equilibrium Partitioning Method. As the risk characterisation ratios are low for all applications of the substance no further testing is considered to be necessary.

Conclusion on classification

Based on the 72-hours ECr50 of 25.0 mg/L in the freshwater green algal species Desmodesmus subspicatus and the low biodegradability N-(Morpholinomethyl)triethoxysilane is classified as harmful to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.
