- The substance is not considered an explosive, as concluded from the test results on thermal sensitivity (effect of a flame), mechanical sensitivity (shock) and mechanical sensitivity (friction).
- Executive summary:
The explosiveness properties of the substance has been studied by assessing the thermal sensitivity (effect of a flame), mechanical sensitivity (shock) and mechanical sensitivity (friction) of the substance in accordance with EU Method A.10 and in compliance with GLP. Test substance is not explosive when exposed to thermal stress. The test substance also does not react under mechanical stress by shock and therefore has not to be seen as explosive. Furthermore the test substance does react under mechanical stress by friction but has not to be seen as explosive. In conclusion, the test substance is not explosive under the conditions of the test.

RESULTS
- Thermal stress:
Exposing the test substance for 300 s to thermal stress did not result in an explosion. None of the test tubes showed a deformation. See also Table 1 and 2 below.
- Mechanical stress by shock:
Exposing the test substance to mechanical stress by shock, did not lead to a· change in the·test substance consistency. See also Table 3 in below.
- Mechanical stress by friction:
Exposing the test substance to mechanical stress by friction, did lead.to change in the test·substance consistency. A discolouration to black was observed, probably caused by the released heat coming from the friction between the two porcelain surfaces. See also Table 4 below.

Description of key information
The test substance did not explode when exposed to heat, mechanical shock or friction, EC Method A.14, Krips 1996.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Explosiveness:
- non explosive
Additional information
The explosiveness of the substance has been determined based on the thermal sensitivity (effect of a flame), mechanical sensitivity (shock) and mechanical sensitivity (friction) in accordance with EU Method A.14 and in compliance with GLP. It was concluded that the test substance is not explosive.
Justification for classification or non-classification
Based on the available information, classification on explosiveness is not warranted in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. (EC) 1272/2008.
