sensitiveness to friction: friction load (N)
Remarks on result:
not measured/tested
Remarks:
Friction test is not applicable as the substance is a liquid at room temperature.

The test substance does not possess explosive properties.

The friction test is not applicable because the test substance is a liquid at room temperature.

Interpretation of results:
non explosive
Conclusions:
The substance does not possess explosive properties.

Description of key information

Not explosive in either thermal sensitivity or mechanical sensitivity (shock) tests.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

An assessment of explosive properties was conducted as part of a package of physicochemical testing on the substance (Huntingdon Life Sciences, 2003, Study ZCE111). The study was conducted in compliance with GLP and the explosive properties assessment was performed according to EC test guidelines.

The substance was assessed for explosive properties in a thermal sensitivity test and a mechanical sensitivity test; the substance was not assessed for explosivity by friction as it is a liquid at room temperature. The substance was not found to be explosive in either of the tests.

The substance does not possess explosive properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance was found not to possess explosive properties, and therefore is not classified as explosive.
