Administrative data

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid non flammable in air, e.g. no flash point up to 200°C
other:
Justification for type of information:
The material has been heated in air to attempt to dry and to determine behavious of pure substance.
When heating, it appears to decompose. There was no evidence of violent exotherm or combustion.
Inorganic salts are not typically considered likely to auto-ignite on heating.
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
other:
Justification for type of information:
Based on the manufacturing conditions in which only Chromium trioxide, an organic reducing agent, water and nitric acid are used, the substance produced will only contain chromium, nitrate, hydroxide and water.
The substance is produced as a solution and it cannot be produced in the anhydrous form. Between 110 oC and 125 oC the substance reaches its maximum of water loss and nitrous oxide fumes develop, with the loss of nitrate
