Conclusions:
The substance was found to be stable to hydrolysis at pH 7 and 20°C, 40°C and 70°C. At pH 4 and pH 9 and 70°C, fast hydrolysis was observed.

Description of key information

ATMP-N-oxide-5K is not hydrolytically unstable under ambient conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A reliable study is available, conducted in accordance to OECD 111, the substance was found to be stable to hydrolysis at pH 7 at ambient and elevated temperatures (40°C and 70°C).

At pH 4 and pH 9 and 70°C, fast hydrolysis was observed. Similarly, in a secondary source, the parent acid of the salt (ATMP-N-oxide) was determined to have a hydrolysis half-life of >650 hr, >2000 hr and >>2000 hr at pH 2, 6 and 10 and 25°C respectively, full details on the methods are not available and the reliability could not be assigned. It could however be extrapolated that the substance is hydrolytically stable.
