Additional information

The acute toxicity of 1,4 -Butanediol to freshwater fish has been tested according to various guideline and non-guideline methods under GLP and non-GLP conditions. Tests results with Klimisch scores of at least 2 yielded 96 hr LC50 values of >100 mg/L (NITE Japan, 1996) to >30000 mg/L (DuPont, 1982), and 96 hr LC0 values of 10000 mg/L (BASF, 1989) and 30000 mg/L (DuPont, 1982). These data indicate that 1,4 -Butanediol has a very low degree of toxicity to freshwater fish.
