It is concluded that there is a relation-ship between the Douglas fir terpenes and the growth rate, cellular integrity, mitochondrial activity and infectivity of some selected microorganisms. IBA was inhibitory to the growth of Bacillus thuringiensis. Concentration of IBA in Douglas fir = 370 mg/kg d.w.
