- Justification:
Due to the rapid hydrolysis of butyril chloride, the environmental assessment is mainly based on its hydrolysis product butyric acid (CAS 107-92-6).
Butyric acid is not P/vP since it is readily biodegradable. The hydrolysis product butyric acid is also not B/vB based on an experimentally determined log Kow of 0.79. Butyric acid is not T since, the lowest available chronic value is > 0.01 mg/L (algae: 72h ErC10 = 33.7 mg/L) and the substance has no toxicological relevant labelling.
