Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The appearance of the substance was described within a number of test reports. A single report entitled "A two-generation reproductive toxicity study of the test material in rats " was selected.

The study was conducted to GLP and applicable OECD guideline and is therefore considered to provide a wholly reliable source of information on the substance's appearance.

It should be noted that the substance is composed of a series of alkylated phenol species of variable composition and a highly refined, lubricant base oil necessary to act as a solvent for the synthetic reaction and to optimize the reaction kinetics used in the substance’s manufacture. Attempts to remove this base oil from the substance result in changes to the other components’ original structures and the physicochemical characteristics of the substance as a whole. With this in mind, the substance is being registered to include the base oil as a component of the substance and thus the base oil is present in the test material.
