Appearance:

On the basis of physical observation and using the sense of smell, (2α,4aα,8β)-hexahydro-1,1,5,5 -tetramethyl-2H-2,4a-methanonaphthalen-8(5H)-one was observed to be a Pale yellow liquid having Sweet, earthy, woody and slightly camphoraceous odour.

Melting point:

Freezing point of (2α,4aα,8β)-hexahydro-1,1,5,5-tetramethyl-2H-2,4a-methanonaphthalen-8(5H)-one was determine to be less than -7.1 Deg C.

Boiling Point:

Boiling point of (2α,4aα,8β)-hexahydro-1,1,5,5-tetramethyl-2H-2,4a-methanonaphthalen-8(5H)-one is determine in the range between 111 to 112 Deg C at pressure 0.2666 kPa.

Density:

Based on prediction done using ACD/I-Lab 2.0, the density of (2α,4aα,8β)-hexahydro-1,1,5,5-tetramethyl-2H-2,4a-methanonaphthalen-8(5H)-one was estimated to be 1 g/cm3 at 20 Deg C & 101.325 kPa.

The water solubility determination of test substance (2α,4aα,8β)-hexahydro-1,1,5,5-tetramethyl-2H-2,4a-methanonaphthalen-8(5H)-one was done as per the shake flask method. The solubility was determine to be greater than 100 mg/L at 29 Deg C. Thus (2α,4aα,8β)-hexahydro-1,1,5,5-tetramethyl-2H-2,4a-methanonaphthalen-8(5H)-one is considered to be moderately soluble in water.

Surface tension:

Based on the data from ACD labs, surface tension for (2α,4aα,8β)-hexahydro-1,1,5,5-tetramethyl-2H-2,4a-methanonaphthalen-8(5H)-one was predicted to be 0.0347 N/m.

Flash point:

Estimated flash point of chemical (2α,4aα,8β)-hexahydro-1,1,5,5 -tetramethyl-2H-2,4a-methanonaphthalen-8(5H)-one is concluded to be 119.7 Deg C.

Auto flammability:
