guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

The test material considered flammable if the main test take less than 45 seconds. In all other cases the test material is not considered flammable. The test maerial could not ignited. Therefore, the substance is considered not to be highly flammable.

Interpretation of results:
other: Not highly flammable in accordance with EU criteria.
Conclusions:
Under the conditions of the study, the test material was determined not to be highly flammable.
Executive summary:

The flammability of the test material was determined in line with standardised guideline EU Method A.10 and under GLP conditions.

Under the conditions of the study, the test material was determined not to be highly flammable.

Description of key information

Flammability (solids)

Under the conditions of the study, the test material was determined not to be highly flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Flammability (solids)

The flammability of the test material was determined in line with standardised guideline EU Method A.10 and under GLP conditions.

Under the conditions of the study, the test material was determined not to be highly flammable.

Pyrophoricity

In accordance with point 1 of Annex XI, it is considered justified to omit the testing for pyrophoric properties. Testing does not appear scientifically necessary as experience in use and experience of handling the substance indicates that it does not possess pyrophoric properties.

Flammability in contact with water

In accordance with point 1 of Annex XI, it is considered justified to omit the testing for substances or mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases. Testing does not appear scientifically necessary as experience in use and experience of handling the substance indicates that it does not emit flammable gases in contact with water.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, the substance does not require classification with respect to flammability.
