Results and discussion
Results of examinations
- Details on results:
- - Two animals treated repeatedly with 110 mg/kg showed no change of the granulocytes or mononuclear with cells, either in numbers or in structure. In one of these animals the hemoglobin dropped form 14 Gm. to 6.3 Gm. per hunderd cubic cm in a 10-day period. By the 27th day the hemoglobin of the first animals had returened to 10.5 Gm. and that of the second to 11 Gm per hunderd cubic cm on the 24th day.
- In an animal given 220 mg/kg severe anemia developed (7.5 Gm. hemoglobin per hunderd cubic cm of blodd) by the 17th day.
- The 4th animal, which died 4 days after treatment, showed a fall in hemoglobin from 11 to 8 Gm. per hunderd cubic cm and the erythrocyte count from 4.8 to 2.5 million per cubic mm shortly before death.
- The red cell count fell uniformly in all 4 animals, but only the last of these animals showed a drop corresponding to the low hemoglobin. There was a slight increase in the number of red cells. No increase in reticulocytes could be demonstrated on the 15th day.
