Description of key information
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- EC50 for freshwater algae:
- 0.46 mg/L
- EC50 for marine water algae:
- 0.001 mg/L
- EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
- 0.08 mg/L
- EC10 or NOEC for marine water algae:

Additional information
Studies on algae showed NOEC values of 0.08 mg/L for Selenastrum capricornutum which indicates that NaPT is toxic. The LC50values range was 0.46 mg/L mg NaPT/L.
Further studies with the freshwater algae Anabaena flosaque using ZPT gave a value of 0.0038 mg/L.
PSA gave much higher values of 5.46 mg/L for the NOEC with Selenastrum.
