Two key studies were performed to assess toxicity of FAT 40865/A TE following GLP and OECD test guideline 221 and 202 on freshwater plant Lemna gibba and freshwater invertebrate Daphnia magna respectively.

The EC50 of FAT 40865/A TE in Daphnia magna observed for a period of 48 hours was calculated as 34.58 mg/L with upper confidence limits of 60.32 mg/L and lower confidence limits of 21.20 mg/L and regression equation Y = 1.3269 + 2.387 log (x).

Lemna gibba (Duckweed) were exposed to the test item (FAT 40865/A TE) at different test concentrations viz.,0.3, 0.96, 3.07, 9.83, 31.46 and 100.66 mg/L . At the end of 7 days the following endpoints were recorded:

ErC50 of FAT 40865/A TE based upon the frond numbers observed for a period of ‘7’ days for Lemna gibba was calculated as 25.03 mg/L with upper confidence limits of 26.80 mg/L and lower confidence limits of 23.37 mg/L.

EyC50 of FAT 40865/A TE based upon the frond numbers observed for a period of ‘7’ days for Lemna gibba was calculated as 7.65 mg/L with upper confidence limits of 8.13 mg/L and lower confidence limits of 7.19 mg/L.

ErC50 of FAT 40865/A TE based upon the frond dry weight observed for a period of ‘7’ days for Lemna gibba was calculated as 19.43 mg/L with upper confidence limits of 21.04 mg/L and lower confidence limits of 17.94 mg/L.

EyC50 of FAT 40865/A TE based upon the frond dry weight observed for a period of ‘7’ days for Lemna gibba was calculated as 5.02 mg/L with upper confidence limits of 5.33 mg/L and lower confidence limits of 4.72 mg/L.
