Biodegradation in water: screening tests:

The biodegradation in water of 6-chlorohexan-2-one has been predicted with the BIOWIN program (version 4.10). Based on the results from the predictions with Biowin models it can be concluded that 6-chlorohexan-2-one, is not readily biodegradable.

The Fugacity model III indicates the half life of the 6-chlorohexan-2-one as 37.5 days in water medium, which clearly indicate that the substance 6-chlorohexan-2-one is not persistent in water medium and in soil (half life 75 days).
