EC50 (48 h)= 1.1 mg/L (measured average concentration) for Daphnia magna (OECD 202)

One study evaluating the acute toxicity of methyl decanoate (CAS No. 110-42-9) to aquatic invertebrates is available (Bouwman, 2010). This test was conducted according to OECD Guideline 202, under GLP conditions. Daphnids were exposed to the test substance for 48 hours within a semi-static water regime at 20 ± 1 °C. Measurements of test concentrations (loading rate at 100 mg/L and dilutions) were performed through GC analysis. After 48 hours, effects on daphnids mobility were reported at the two highest tested concentrations, 1.9 and 4 mg/L (measured average)(90 and 100% immobility, respectively), whereas no significant effects were observed at lower concentrations (0.74 mg/L and below (measured average)). Therefore, the EC50 (48 h) was determined to be 1.1 mg/L (measured average concentration).
