Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Hydrolysis: rate of hydrolysis increased with higher temperature and in alkaline/acid solution.
Cyanuric chloride hydrolyses fast (in the order of minutes-hours).
Cyanuric chloride hydrolyzes rapidly in water. Approximately 40% degradation was observed in 1 hour at a temperature of 30ºC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The hydrolysis of cyanuric chloride was studied and titration curves were made, from which hydrolysis constants were deduced. Results indicated a rate of hydrolysis that increased with higher temperature and in alkaline/acid solution. Cyanurchlorid hydrolyses in the order of minutes-hours.
