Description of key information

293 hPa at 20°C (366 hPa at 25°C)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

1. European Union Risk Assessment Report of Acrolein (EU, 2001)

Vapor pressure: 293 hPa at 20°C

2. Agreement with further international Reports and Studies published after finalisation of the EU Risk Assessment Report 2001

US ATSDR (2007): vapor pressure: 274 mm Hg at 25°C (366 hPa)

WHO (2002): vapor pressure: 293-365 hPa at 20°C ( remark: both vapor pressure values are cited in the same reference, however, vapor pressure at 20°C is reported to be 293 hPa whereas at 25°C the vapor pressure is stated to be 366 hPa)

3. Substantial disagreements in comparison to further international Reports to European Union Risk Assessment Report 2001

The higher vapor pressure value (365 hPa at 20°C) cited in WHO (2002) might correspond to 25°C.

4. Additional aspects in further international Reports

None

5. Additional information in newer Studies, not included in the European Union Risk Assessment Report 2001 or further cited international reports

None

6. Conclusions

The vapor pressure of acrolein is 293 hPa at 20°C and 366 hPa at 25°C.
