Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information: If you feel unwell, seek medical advice.
In case of inhalation: Move victim to fresh air; if necessary, provide artificial respiration or oxygen. Seek medical attention.
In case of skin contact: Change contaminated clothing. Immediately clean with water and soap followed by thorough rinsing. Consult physician.
After eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart.
Subsequently seek the immediate attention of an ophthalmologist.
After swallowing: Rinse mouth immediately and drink plenty of water. Consult physician immediately
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Alcohol resistant foam, extinguishing powder, carbon dioxide, water fog.
Extinguishing media which must not be used f or safety reasons: High power water jet
Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself , its combustion products or from resulting gases:
Combustible. In case of strong heating: The vapours of the product are heavier than air and can form explodable mixtures. In case of fire may be liberated: Nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Special protectiv e equipment f or f ire-f ighters: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing.
Additional information: Hazchem-Code: 2X
Use water spray to minimise or disperse vapours. Do not allow fire water to penetrate into surface or ground water.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Avoid contact with the substance. Wear suitable protective clothing. Do not breathe vapour/aerosol. Provide adequate ventilation.
Environmental precautions: Do not allow to penetrate into soil, waterbodies or drains.
Methods f or cleaning up: Soak up with absorbent materials such as sand, siliceus earth, acid- or universal binder. Store in special closed containers and dispose of according to ordinance.
Handling and storage
Handling
Information for safe handling:
Provide adequate ventilation, and local exhaust as needed. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Do not breathe vapour/aerosol. Wear protective equipment.
Precautions against fire and explosion:
Keep away from heat sources, sparks and open flames.
Storage
Requirements for storerooms and containers:
Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.
Storage temperature: 15 °C up to 25 °C.
Storage class: 10= Combustible liquids, unless storage class 3

Exposure controls / personal protection
Exposure controls
When vapours form Withdraw by suction.
See also inf ormation in chapter 7, section storage.
Occupational exposure controls
Respiratory protection: Use filter type A (= against vapours of organic substances) according to EN 141.
Hand protection: Protective gloves according to EN 374
Glove material: butyl caoutchouc (butyl rubber)-Layer thickness: 0,7 mm.
Breakthrough time: >480 min.
Observe glove manufacturer's instructions concerning penetrability and breakthrough time.
Eye protection: Tightly sealed safety glasses according to EN 166
Skin protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.
General protection and hygiene measures:
Change contaminated clothing. Wash hands before breaks and after work. Do not breathe vapour/aerosol. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Work place should be equipped with a shower and an eye rinsing apparatus.
We confirm that the substance is used under strictly controlled conditions during its whole lifecycle as described under Article 18(4) and section 2.1 of the Guidance for Intermediates.
Stability and reactivity
Conditions to avoid: Keep away from heat.
Materials to avoid: Violent reaction with strong oxidizing agents, Acid halides, acids, acid anhydrides.
Hazardous decomposition products: In case of fire may be liberated: Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Additional information: Sensitive to air, light-sensitive, sensitive to heat and warmth.
Disposal considerations
Product
Waste key number: 0701 = Wastes from the manufacture, formulation, supply and use (MFSU) of basic organic chemicals
MFSU = manufacture, formulation, supply and use
Recommendation: Special waste. Incinerate according to applicable local, state and federal regulations.
Contaminated packaging
Recommendation: Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation. Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
Non-contaminated packages may be recycled.
