Details on test solutions:
PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION (especially for difficult test substances)
- Method: The test substance was dissolved in dilution water at a concentration of 1,000 mg/L. From this stock test solution, the test solutions were prepared by further diluting with water (c= 100 mg/L).
- Controls: 1 control, dilution water.

TEST CONCENTRATIONS
- Results used to determine the conditions for the definitive study: A preliminary concluded that there was 0% mortality at a MPD concentration of 300 mg/L. Therefore the eventual test's MPS concentration was adjusted to 100 mg/L only. Dilution water was used as control.
Reference substance (positive control):
yes
Remarks:
Copper sulphate (II) pentahydrate; LC50 = 0.745 mg/L

Any other information on results incl. tables

Sublethal observations / clinical signs:

After 96 hours of exposure, none of the test or control animals showed any toxic symptoms.

None of the test or control animals were dead. Therefore the 96h LC50 for MPD was determined to be >100 mg/L.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The 96h LC50 for MPD against killifish was determined to be >100 mg/L.
Executive summary:

Acute toxicity of MPD against killifish was tested in a 96h- semi-static test (c MPD = 100 mg/L). Control fish were used.

After 96 hours, none of the test or control animals showed any signs of toxic symptoms or mortality.

The LC50 was determined to be >100 mg/L.
