Additional information

Freshwater aquatic toxicity data were available for three trophic levels: fish, invertebrates and algae. No adverse effects were observed in any of the available acute tests with LC50 >100, EiC50 >1000 and EC50 >1000 mg/L respectively. In a long term reproductive toxicity test with aquatic invertebrates, the NOEC was found to be >= 100 mg/L. MPD is readily biodegradable and has a low log Kow (0.03) so long term exposure to or bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms is not expected. The initial applied test concentration of 100 mg/L used in the ready biodegradability test (OECD Guideline 301C) showed no indication of toxicity to microorganisms.
