Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

MPD has a low log Kow (0.03), a low log Koc (0.1188) and is readily biodegradable.

A calculated photolysis half-life was estimated to be 9 hours. The results of an OECD TG 111 test indicates that the substance does not hydrolyse at pH 4.0, 7.0 and 9.0 at 50 °C. Therefore the substance is considered to be stable. Based on the result of a reliable key ready-biodegradability OECD 301C study the substance is classified as readily biodegradable. The publicly available QSAR Models BCFBAF and KOCWIN (as available in US EPA EPISUITE) were used to estimate the bioaccumulation potential and expected transport and distribution of MPD. The predicted BCF of 3.16 L/kg indicates that bioaccumulation is unlikely. The predicted log Koc of 0.1188 indicates MPD will not preferentially bind to soils and sediments.
