Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
The data waiving was based on the expert statement in the study report.

From the expert statement:
A test item is considered highly flammable when it ignites spontaneously in contact with water, or evolves a flammable gas at a minimum rate of ≥ 1 litre/kg of the substance per hour.
The composition of the test item is shown in paragraph 4.1 and Appendix 2. None of the components of the test item does contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with water and/or to the evolution of a flammable gas.
In conclusion, Setalux 7002 BX-55 is considered ‘not highly flammable’ in contact with water.
GLP compliance:
not specified
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The substance, in contact with water, does not emit flammable gases.
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
The data waiving was based on the expert statement in the study report.

From the expert statement:
A test item is considered pyrophoric when it ignites within five minutes of coming in contact with air.
The composition of the test item is shown in paragraph 4.1 and Appendix 2. None of the components of the test item does contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with air. Moreover the test item was handled under normal laboratory conditions during this project. It demonstrated that the test item does not ignite in contact with air at room temperature.
In conclusion, Setalux 7002 BX-55 has no pyrophoric properties.
GLP compliance:
not specified
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The substance has no pyrophoric properties.
