Results

Thermal sensitivity (effect of flame)

None of the six tests (three of them with theorifice plate and the remaining with theorifice plate) gave rise to explosion or breaking of any tube.

In the three tests with theorifice plate the following phenomena were observed:

a flame generation began in the test chamber after about 87 seconds with a formation of sparks; the intense phase started after about 122 seconds with a sparks increasing and a leakage of sample from the orifice and ended after about 216 seconds.

After about 216 seconds all phenomena ended.

In the three tests with theorifice plate similar phenomena toorifice plate were observed. The test result is considered negative.

Mechanical sensitivity (effect of shock)

No explosion was obtained during the series of six tests at 40 J performed on the test item (bursting into flame and/or a report is equivalent to explosion).

The test result is considered negative.

Mechanical sensitivity (effect of friction)

No explosion was obtained during the series of six tests performed with 360 N loading on the test item (crackling and/or a report or busting into flame are equivalent to explosion).

The test result is considered negative.

Interpretation of results:
other: No explosive properties.
Conclusions:
From the experimental data obtained according to A.14 method in Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, it can be concluded that the Delmopinolo HCl sample does not present explosive properties.
Executive summary:

Delmopinolo HCl does not present explosive properties.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Delmopinolo HCl is been tested for:

 - Thermal sensitivity (effect of flame)

 - Mechanical sensitivity (effect of shock)

 - Mechanical sensitivity (effect of friction)

None of these tests shown any explosion.

Justification for classification or non-classification

From the experimental data obtained according to A.14 method in Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, it can be concluded that the Delmopinolo HCl sample does not present explosive properties.

Overall, the substance is considered non explosive.
