Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No toxic effects up to the limit of water solubility (< 1 mg/L) for Danio rerio (OECD 203), read-across.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No studies investigating the short-term toxicity of Glycerides, C16-18 mono- (CAS No. 91052-47-0) to fish are available. Therefore, in accordance to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5 Grouping of substances, a read-across to the structurally related category members Glycerides, C14-18 mono- and di- (CAS No. 67701-33-1) was conducted. Further justification is given within the endpoint summary 6.1 and within the category justification section 13. In this case of read-across, the best suited (highest degree of structural similarity, nearest physico-chemical properties) read-across substance within this category was used.

This GLP-study was conducted according to ISO guideline 7346-1 (Guhl, 1992). Individuals of Danio rerio were exposed for 96 hours to the test substance within a semi-static water regime, at nominal concentrations of 3000 and 10000 mg/L. No mortality was observed at any of the tested concentrations and therefore the LC50 (96 h) was determined to be > 10,000 mg/L (nominal concentration).

Based on the results obtained for the structurally related analogue (in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.5), no acute toxicity of Glycerides, C16-18 mono- (CAS No. 91052-47-0) to fish up to the limit of its water solubility is expected.
